We cordially invite you to this afternoon session, which will be led by Dr Sara Bubb and Professor Peter Earley of UCL Institute of Education, University College London. It will consist of two separate but related presentations looking at leadership, teaching and learning for the 21st Century. The two presentations are entitled:
Dr Sara Bubb: Improving teaching and learning: helping students develop 21st Century skills
Prof. Peter Earley: Developing as educational leaders: combining personal and professional development needs
The first presentation will examine what skills students need in the 21st Century and what the implications are for the way we teach. Sara’s session will be interactive and aims to offer ideas for implementation in the classroom.
The second presentation argues that leadership is important at all levels of an organisation and that whilst teachers’ and school leaders’ professional development continues to be essential, greater attention needs to be given to individuals’ personal development - their wellbeing and developing the personal qualities required to operate in the demanding and often stressful conditions of 21st Century schools. Peter’s session will be interactive and aims to offer ideas for your own development as teachers and leaders.
